Claire ZALC is the principal investigator of the ERC Consolidator LUBARTWORLD project. She is a CNRS research director at CNRS and a professor at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS, France). Claire Zalc is currently a member of the editorial board of the following journals: French Politics, Culture and Society, Vingtième siècle. Revue d’histoire, Le Mouvement social.

In 2012, she won the André Conquet Prize for her book: Melting Shops: une histoire des commerçants étrangers en France. One year later, she received the Bronze medal of the CNRS. Her latest book, Dénaturalisés. Les retraits de nationalité sous Vichy, won in 2017 the Prix d’histoire de la justice.
