History as music for orchestra

Entre-Temps is a digital journal of current history, collective and free, attached to the chair of Patrick Boucheron at the Collège de France. Entre-Temps is a public service of history in the form of an open space, dedicated to a plural, joyful, interdisciplinary and intermediary history. Entre-Temps is a space for exchange, debate, creation and production.

It is rare to hear, at length, the words of historians but also of creators, artists, writers, teachers, all those who take up historical material, question it and transform it in many ways: every month in Entre-vues, Entre-Temps exchanges with a guest to discuss and debate a work, a work in progress, a work in general, the way in which history is made alive.

Last September, Claire Zalc published her book, Z ou souvenirs d’historienne, in the “Itinéraires” collection of Éditions de la Sorbonne. In this interview with Patrick Boucheron, she returns to this singular work of writing about herself, as a historian and in a dialogue with the work of Georges Perec. Together they also discuss the way in which her work intimately articulates individual and collective research and builds, through attention to figures, a particular form of narrative of history.
